ECG: Launch of first ever joint-op outside EU

Tirana, May 22 (UNI) The European Border and Coast Guard Agency, in cooperation with the Albanian authorities, has launched the first ever joint operation on the territory of a neighbouring non-EU country.
As of 22 May (Wednesday), teams from the Agency will be deployed together with Albanian border guards at the Greek-Albanian border to strengthen border management and enhance security at the EU's external borders, in full agreement with all concerned countries, said a press note on the European Commission on Tuesday.
This operation marks a new phase for border cooperation between the EU and its Western Balkan partners, and is yet another step towards the full operationalisation of the Agency.

Israel missile strikes Iran

Tehran, April 19 (UNI) An Israeli missile has hit Iran on Friday, US officials have confirmed with the media. Blasts were heard in the central province of Isfahan and flights have been suspended over several cities, the Iranian media said adding that three drones were destroyed after the country's air defence systems were activated.
