New Delhi, Oct 21 (UNI) The Election Commission on Wednesday issued a notice to former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath in the by-election of the State Assembly, for making objectionable remarks on BJP candidate and state Minister Imarti Devi.
The Commission has asked Mr Nath to reply to this notice within 48 hours.
According to the statement issued by the Commission here, the saffron party had lodged a complaint on October 18 that Mr Nath had described the BJP candidate as an 'item' during one of his election speeches in Dabra, Gwalior, which was a violation of the Model Conduct of Conduct.
