Early Diagnosis, Advanced Treatment Crucial in Fight Against Brain Tumors: AIG Expert

Hyderabad, June 8 (UNI) Marking World Brain Tumor Day on Monday, medical experts emphasized the importance of early recognition of symptoms, timely diagnosis and access to advanced treatment technologies in improving outcomes for patients suffering from brain tumors.
According to Dr. Subodh Raju, Director and Head of Neurosurgery at AIG Hospitals Group, India recorded more than 32,000 new cases of brain and central nervous system (CNS) cancers and nearly 28,000 related deaths in 2022, citing GLOBOCAN data, underlining the growing public health challenge posed by these conditions.
Dr. Raju said brain tumors can affect individuals across all age groups and may be either benign or malignant. Even non-cancerous tumors can become life-threatening when they exert pressure on critical areas of the brain.
