EAM calls on visiting Maldives President Mohd Muizzu

New Delhi, Oct 6 (UNI) External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Sunday evening called on Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu who is on a five-day state visit to India.
In a post on X, the EAM said that he is confident that the bilateral talks tomorrow between PM Modi and Maldives President Muizzu will give a new impetus to the friendly ties.
“Pleased to call on President @MMuizzu today at the start of his State Visit to India.
“Appreciate his commitment to enhance India-Maldives relationship.
“Confident that his talks with PM @narendramodi tomorrow will give a new impetus to our friendly ties.”
Earlier, on his arrival in India, the MEA spokesperson in a post said the Maldives President was accorded a warm welcome and received by Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh.
“A warm welcome to President @MMuizzu of Maldives as he arrives in New Delhi on a State Visit to India.
“Received by MoS @KVSinghMPGonda at the airport.

“The visit will provide further boost to this long-standing India-Maldives comprehensive bilateral partnership.”
President Muizzu is accompanied by First Lady Sajidha Mohamed and a high level ministerial delegation.

New Delhi, Nov 11 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday announced an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh each to the families of those killed in the Red Fort car bomb blast, while those who developed a disability will receive Rs 5 lakh. The seriously injured victims will be given Rs 2 lakh each, and those with minor injuries will be given Rs 20,000.
