Dust storm hit various parts of Hamirpur

Shimla, Jul 4 (UNI) Dust storm wreaked havoc in various parts of Hamirpur district disrupting power supply, uprooting trees and blown away rooftops.

A high-speed dust storm hit various parts of Hamirpur tonight as the result power supply has been snapped.
Scores of huge trees fell on roads and in fields and rooftops of various houses blown away.
Fruit crops, especially of Mangoes, was worst hit and mango fruits were seen falling in the fields.
This is the second time in this week that such a dust storm ha hit Hamirpur.
Monsoon was dormant for last one week however Met Office forecast rain and thunderstorm in mid and foothills of the state for the next few days.
No loss of life was reported in the inclement weather and dust storm.
The maximum temperature rose to 39.8 degree Celsius in Una, 36 degrees in Bilaspur, 35.8 degrees each in Hamirpur and 35.1 degrees in Sundernagar of Mandi, 33.4 degrees in Kangra, 35.2 degrees in Bhuntar of Kulu and 31.3 degrees in Nahan of Sirmaur.
Maximum temperature of Solan was 33 degrees, Chamba 34.8 degrees, Dharamshala in Kangra 30.4 degrees, Shimla 25.9 degrees, Kalpa 26 degrees, Dalhousie 22.8 degrees and Keylong 24.6 degrees.

Bhopal, Aug 15 (UNI) On the country’s 74th Independence Day, as a proud and grateful nation bowed in unalloyed reverence to those who made the supreme sacrifice during India’s struggle for freedom from the Raj, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan unfurled the glorious Tricolour during the state-level function conducted at Motilal Nehru Stadium here.
On this momentous occasion, the veteran leader extended greetings to citizens and took the salute. The parade comprised contingents of women personnel of the Special Armed Force besides district forces, Government Railway Police, Hawk Force, Special Task Force, Home Guard, Jails Department and Police Band, it was officially learnt.

Khattar announces a string development activities for the people of the state

Chandigarh, Aug 15 (UNI) On the occasion of independence Day on Saturday, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced a string of developmental schemes in the State. These include 24-hour power supply to additional 200 villages under 'Mhara Gaon-Jagmag Gaon' scheme, thus raising the total number of such villages in the State to 4838, introduction of Parivar Pehchan Patra to 20 lakh families by the end of this month, starting 3000 new play-way schools for children, out of which 1000 such schools would be opened this year, and opening of 82 new Sanskriti Model Schools in the State. Khattar also announced that 242 villages would be made free from Lal Dora by October 2, 2020.

Srinagar, Aug 15 (UNI) Seven people, including five from Kashmir and two from Jammu, died due to COVID-19 during the last 24 hours, taking the death toll due to the infection to 527 in the Union Territory, where 532 fresh cases were detected on Saturday.
