During road safety week, 102 vehicles challaned for violating traffic rules

Kaithal, Oct 5 (UNI) As per directions of Inspector General of Police Traffic and Highway Haryana, a special campaign for road safety was launched from September 28 to October 5 by the district police for prevention of road accidents. Under this campaign, strict action was taken against the drivers driving vehicles in the wrong lane, installed red blue lights atop their vehicles or for violating various traffic rules, under the leadership of Traffic SHO Inspector Naresh Kumar. Action was also taken against those who were found driving vehicles with pressure horns and modified bullet bikes.
During the campaign, challans of 60 vehicle drivers were issued for driving in the wrong lane, 6 for making noise pollution, 19 with red blue lights on vehicles and 17 drivers driving vehicles after consuming alcohol. During this time, the police also gave strict instructions to all the drivers to follow traffic rules, drive vehicles at a safe speed and not drive vehicles after consuming liquor.
SP Upasana said that such special campaigns will be conducted by the district police regarding road safety. Along with strict action against those who violate traffic rules, the general public will also be informed about the rules through traffic awareness programs, so that accidents can be prevented and ensuring safety of all on the road and to save precious human lives.
