Durga idols immersed in Meghalaya

Shillong, Oct 13 (UNI) Four days of revelry and merriment ended on Sunday as idols of goddess Durga and her four children were immersed in rivers across Meghalaya.
The banks of the Wah Umkhrah and other rivers wore a festive look as organisers came in colourful processions to the accompaniment of drums to immerse the idols.
The event passed off peacefully under the watchful eyes of the district administration

Odisha student succumbs to burns after self-immolation over sexual harassment

Bhubaneshwar, July 15 (UNI) After battling for life for almost 55 hours, an undergraduate female student, who set herself ablaze after her complaint of prolonged sexual harassment by a teacher was not addressed in a government-run autonomous college in Odisha’s Balasore district, succumbed to burn injuries late on Monday night.
