Dues of sugar factories will be cleared on July 8: AP CM

Vijayawada, Jul 4 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has said that dues of sugar factories worth Rs 54.6 crores would be cleared on July 8, coinciding Farmers’ Day.

At a review meeting held in his camp office at Tadepalli near here on Friday night, the Chief Minister said that sugar factories in the cooperative sector should be revived and asked the officials to work in this direction.

'The dues aggregating to Rs.54.6 crores will be cleared on July 8, which is observed as Farmers' Day. About 50,000 farmers will be benefited', the Chief Minister said, assuring that hereafter there should not be any dues to the farmers.

'The state will clear the dues under Sri Vijayarama Gajapathi factory (Rs.8.41 crores) Chodavaram Sugar factory ( Rs.22.12 crores) Etikoppaka Sugar factory ( Rs.10.56 crores) Tandava Sugar factory (Rs.8.88 crores) and Anakapalle Sugar factory ( Rs.4.63 crores)', the Chief Minister informed.

He said that a Group of Ministers would also study the state of affairs of sugar factories in the cooperative sector and submit its report.

Mr Reddy asked the officials to submit a comprehensive report by August 15 in this regard.

Ministers K Kannababu, Botsa Satyanarayana, M Goutham Reddy and concerned officials attended the meeting.
