Duckett scripts history at Lord's as England pile on 387 in series decider

London, July 19 (UNI) Ben Duckett produced a record-shattering innings of 141 to rewrite the Lord's record books as England amassed a formidable 387 for three against India in the series-deciding third ODI here on Sunday, with Joe Root and Jos Buttler adding the finishing touches to a commanding batting display.
After England captain Harry Brook elected to bat, Duckett seized the initiative from the outset and anchored an innings that eclipsed the previous highest individual ODI score at the iconic venue. His 141 off 135 balls, studded with 18 fours and a six, surpassed Viv Richards' unbeaten 138 in the 1979 World Cup final, making it the highest ODI score at Lord's.
Duckett found an able partner in Jacob Bethell as the left-handed duo added 192 runs for the opening wicket, leaving India's pace attack searching for answers. Bethell continued his impressive run with a fluent 91 off 93 deliveries, striking 11 fours and two sixes before Prasidh Krishna ended the marathon stand by having him caught by Rohit Sharma at deep square leg.
