dSPACE opens Asia’s first global Competence Centre in Kerala capital

Thiruvananthapuram, May 22 (UNI) Global technology leader for simulation and validation solutions dSPACE, which provides critical solutions to auto majors across the world, opened its first global competence centre in Asia, in the city today, reflecting on the emergence of Kerala as a highly vibrant ecosystem for cutting-edge technology ventures.
Interacting with top executives of the Germany-based company ahead of its launch, Minister for Law, Industries and Coir P. Rajeeve said the government is ready to meet all the requirements of big players in the software development sector.
dSPACE(digital Signal Processing and Control Engineering) provides critical solutions to auto majors across the world for developing connected, autonomous, and electrically powered vehicles. The global Competence Centre at the Kinfra Park at Kazhakoottam in the city is the first facility of dSPACE in Asia, the other offshore centres being located in Germany and Croatia.
Noting that the biggest advantage of Kerala is the availability of skilled human resource in abundance, Shri Rajeeve said the state is fast transforming into a knowledge-based economy and society, leveraging its core strengths.
“In the state capital, there is a highly conducive ecosystem for space and other IT/ITes sectors. The proposed Space Park will be an added advantage for the German company,” he said.
The Minister added that dSPACE can leverage the world-class infrastructure facilities available in the state capital and explore AI for their technologies, besides tapping into the talented youth by creating ample opportunities for them.
The Minister also visited the new facility at the Kinfra Film and Video Park, Kazhakoottam and interacted with the officials and staff there.
dSPACE’s customers in the automotive industry include such big names like Porsche, Jaguar, BMW, Audi, Volvo, AVL, Bosch, TATA Motors, ZF, MAN, Toyota, Honda, Ford, Stellantis, Hyundai, VW, GM, Daimler, Denso, and Renault.
Expressing gratitude to the government for facilitating the setting up of the centre, Mr Andreas Gau, Managing Director and CEO, dSPACE India Software and Technologies, said the competent centre will have the full responsibility for the products and projects.
Mr Franklin George, Managing Director, dSPACE India Software and Technologies, said the company scouted for many cities in the country and finally the Kerala capital was chosen considering the feasibility of setting up such a facility.
Mr George said the centre will be working on all new-gen technologies by recruiting talented youths from Kerala.
Highlighting that a huge automotive market like India will make a difference in the company’s activities, Mr Elmar Schmitz, Vice President, dSPACE, said they will hire more people from Kerala and want to make use of their competence.
Mr Schmitz added that dSPACE chose Kerala considering the world class facilities offered by the state as a thriving ecosystem for global companies for their critical operations.
