Drug peddler held, 5 kg of Ganja seized

Kendrapara, Oct 10 (UNI) The Excise Intelligence and Enforcement Bureau (EIEB)
of Cuttack (unit-2) division today arrested a drug peddler and seized 5.1 kg of
cannabis from his possession.
EIEB IIC Jagdish Samal said Sanjay Rout (25), of Bodhagaon village under
Pattamundai police station was booked under 20(b) of Narcotic Drugs and
Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS Act) 1985 and produced before the
SDJM court .
The court remanded him into jail custody after rejecting his bail petition.
Mr Samal said the cannabis were kept in a polythene bag. The drug peddler
told the EIEB personnel during interrogation that he has been operating the
illegal cannabis trade for the last six months .
