Drinking water crisis mitigated in summer by allocating Rs 277.68 cr : Minister

Vijayawada, Jun 5 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy said that the drinking water crisis in the state was mitigated well in this summer by allocating Rs 277.68 crore.
In a statement here on Friday, the Minister said that Rs.77.68 crore was allocated from the State Drought Relief Fund, Rs.100 crore under State Development Scheme, Rs.6.80 crore under the CPWSS scheme, Rs.33.73 crore under Satya Sai Drinking water supply scheme to do away the drinking water scarcity at various places in the State.
He said that the effective preventive steps taken before the summer ensured the supply of drinking water to many localities and scarcity was limited to only in some localities in this summer.
