Dreaded criminal arrested after encounter in Bagpat

Bagpat, Sep 12 (UNI) A dreaded criminal arrested after encounter with police in Kotwali area here on Thursday. The criminal and one policeman were injured in exchange of fire during encounter.

Police sources here said that acting on a tip-off, police team raided at jungle area near Nirospur-Baghpath road and intercepted few suspects. Meanwhile, the criminals hiding in jungle opened fire on police team in which police constable Nitin Tyagi was severely injured.

In retaliatory firing, one criminal was injured while two others manage to escape. Injured criminal was identified as Shanu and one country-made pistol, some cartages and looted scooty were recovered from him.

More than seven criminal cases under loot, attempt to murder and arms act charges were registered against him, police said adding that manhunt was launched to nab escaped criminals.

MP CM raises Sainik School issue

Bhopal, July 5 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan made a courtesy call on Defence Minister Raj Nath Singh on Sunday at the latter’s New Delhi residence – the first such interaction after the former politician assumed this state’s reins in March, official sources said.
During the meeting, the visiting leader urged establishment of a Sainik School within Chambal Division, which is long pending.
