Dr Ram Lal Jassi new VC of Punjab Scheduled Castes Land Development & Finance Corporation

Chandigarh, Dec 24 (UNI) Dr Ram Lal Jassi assumed charge as the Vice-Chairman of the Punjab Scheduled Castes Land Development and Finance Corporation in presence of Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot here on Tuesday.
On the occasion, Mr Dharamsot expressed hope that Dr Jassi would ensure that the benefits of the state government run welfare schemes would accrue to the poor beneficiaries of the Scheduled Caste category.
Thanking Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh and Mr Dharamsot, Dr Jassi said he would fulfill the assigned responsibility with full dedication and would exhort the SC category people of the state to go in for starting their own ventures to bring them into the main stream besides working tirelessly for the welfare of the poor families belonging to the SC category.

Corporates under Modi govt free to rob farmers by enactment of 'black laws' :Jakhar

While addressing a dharna at Bassi Pathana Monday as part of a series of protests by the Congress party against the farming related black-laws passed by the NDA government, he said the Union government was misleading the people by saying that after the new agriculture laws; farmers could sell their produce anywhere. Farmers had this freedom even before and there was no restriction on them to go anywhere in the country and sell their crop. The biggest interpretation of the law that the Modi government offers was misleading.
