Dr Prashant Narnaware takes over as Jt MD of CIDCO

Thane , Jul 18 (UNI) Dr Prashant Narnaware on Thursday assumed charge as joint managing director of the City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (CIDCO) at its head office in CBD Belapur.
Before taking the current charge, he was working as the district collector and district magistrate of Palghar.
In the past, Dr Narnaware, IAS of 2009 batch, has had handled responsibilities as assistant collector of Amravati and Kolhapur, chief executive officer of Sangli Zilla Parishad and collector and district magistrate of Osmanabad.
He also works as an Adjunct Professor at Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Tuljapur, a CIDCO release here said.
During his administrative service, Dr Narnaware had implemented some innovative schemes and projects, which include ‘Matrutva Samvardhan Din’ for pregnant women and ‘Beyond Sugarcane’ campaign with the main objective to reduce the sown area of sugarcane.
Other noteworthy projects are the ‘Palghar Development Corridor’ to raise the standard of living of tribals in Palghar and the Jal Yukta Shivar scheme for water conservation, which has been adopted by the Government of Rajasthan with necessary modifications.
Dr Narnaware has received various awards such as the ‘Best Collector Award’, ‘Yashwant Panchayat Raj Award’, ‘Beti Bachav Award’ and 'Mahatma Phule Jal Bhumi Award’, the release added.
