New Delhi, Sep 17 (UNI) External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar on Tuesday extended birthday greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said his leadership in building a New India has been an inspiration to all.
"Heartfelt birthday wishes to our Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Your leadership in building a New India has been an inspiration to all of us," Dr Jaishankar tweeted.
He further wrote - "Pray for your long and healthy life as we all work together towards achieving this vision".
Several other leaders have greeted Mr Modi on his birthday.
BJP chief and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in his series of tweets in Hindi said Prime Minister's life has been "inspiration" for all and it is a matter of pride for him (Shah) to work with Mr Modi in nation building.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in his missive said Mr Modi's visionary leadership has helped India in scaling "new height of glory".
"He has been instrumental in building and strengthening India's position in the comity of nations," Mr Singh wrote in the micro blogging site.
Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio also greeted the Prime Minister among others. Assam BJP leader and Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma described Mr Modi as "the architect" of New India, who inspired Swachh Bharat and 'earned' Sabka Vishwas.
BJP working president J P Nadda also greeted Mr Modi on the occasion.
Born in 1950, Prime Minister's 69th birthday falls on Tuesday.
The ruling party has launched 'Seva Saptah' (service week) to celebrate Prime Minister's birthday.
Mr Shah and other BJP leaders, including party working president J P Nadda, on Saturday mopped the floors at AIIMS launching the service week.
