DPCC passes resolution welcoming Priyanka Gandhi's appointment as AICC General Secy

New Delhi, Jan 24 (UNI) Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) on Thursday unanimously passed a resolution, thanking party president Rahul Gandhi for making Priyanka Gandhi as General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), to bring her into active politics, which has boosted the morale of the party workers.
The resolution, passed at a meeting chaired by DPCC chief Sheila Dikshit and attended by ex-MLAs, Municipal Councillors, those who contested the MCD elections and presidents of various Cells of the PCC at the DPCC office, Rajiv Bhawan, here, also noted that there was tremendous enthusiasm among the Congress workers for making Priyanka Gandhi as the General Secretary of the AICC and her decision to enter active politics.
Three senior former MLAs, Subhash Chopra, Rajkumar Chouhan and Dr Vijender Singh, jointly moved the resolution which was enthusiastically passed by the ex-MLAs by raising their hands.

In the meeting with ex-MLAs, Municipal Councillors, those who contested the elections and presidents of various Cells, many suggestions were put forward on which discussions were held with the DPCC president.
Prominent among those who attended the meetings were working presidents HaroonYusuf and Rajesh Lilothia, former Delhi Ministers Dr A.K.Walia, Mangat Ram Singhal, Ramakanth Goswami, who is also the DPCC spokesperson, Dr Narendra Nath, Dr Yoganand Shastri, chief spokesperson Sharmistha Mukherjee, spokesperson Jitender Kumar Kochar, ex-MLAs Naseeb Singh, and Veer Singh Dhingan.

Addressing the meeting, Ms Dikshit appealed to the ex-MLAs, Municipal Councillors, heads of various Cells and others to work unitedly in the coming Lok Sabha elections to ensure the victory of the Congress candidates in all the seven Parliamentary seats in Delhi.
She said that the Congress party was going through a difficult phase and therefore all the Congress workers should work hard for the victory of the Congress party in the Lok Sabha elections.
'The Congress workers would have to battle on two fronts, as there is the communal BJP on the one side which has been disturbing the peaceful life of the people, and on the other side there is Aam Aadmi Party, which has been misleading the people,' she said.

"During the 15-year rule of the Congress Government, Delhi witnessed unprecedented developments to change the face of the National Capital to make it one of the best in the world,' she said.
She said that the Arvind Kejriwal Government has been taking credit for the work done by the Congress Government in Delhi without laying a single brick for development during its four year rule in Delhi.
Instead, she said, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government has been squandering the tax payers’ money for self publicity by propagating lies and confusion through its newspaper advertisements.
Ms Dikshit said that during the Congress rule in Delhi, money from the Government exchequer was never misused.
She asked the Congress workers to make door-to-door visits to tell the people about the achievements of the Congress Government and the stark difference between the Congress party and the AAP.

Ms Sheila Dikshit said the AAP Government has not constructed any new hospital, no new flyovers nor any new under pass in the last four years.
She said that the people of Delhi have seen through the real face of the AAP and in the coming Lok Sabha elections, they will teach the AAP an unforgettable lesson.
