The fire broke out due to a short circuit in a chemical company at around 1430 hours this afternoon and it later spread to the four nearby companies including a pharmaceutical firm, ink company and also a chemical unit, police said. At least four fire engines rushed to the spot and fought the blaze for more than six hours before it was contained.
