Washington, Sep 25 (UNI) The US President Donald Trump on Thursday again said that the United States would very much like to help India and China reconcile their border dispute.
"I know that China now and India are having difficulty and a very substantial difficulty. Hopefully, they will be able to work that out. If we can help, we would love to help," Mr Trump told reporters at the White House.
In May too, Mr Trump had offered to mediate between India and China over the border issue which was refused by India.
On September 10, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) to resolve the border issues prevailing in the Ladakh region.
According to sources, during the meeting, the Indian side highlighted its strong concern at the massing of Chinese troops with equipment along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The presence of such large concentration of troops was not in accordance with the 1993 and 1996 Agreements and created flash points along the LAC.
