Dominant Mumbai puts up 213 runs against Delhi

New Delhi, May 6 (UNI) Mumbai Indians registered a mammoth total of 213 runs playing against Delhi Daredevils here at the Feroz Shah Kotla ground. Winning the toss Delhi sent Mumbai to bat first. Starting at a slower pace Mumbai finally posted 213 runs on the board, thanks to Lendil Simmons and Kieron Pollard's batting performance. Caribbean hitman Lendil Simmons came into the side for the visitors and knocked an innings of 66 runs off 43 balls with the help of five fours and four sixes. After a slow first and second over the openers opened their arms to notch up the score. Parthiv Patel supported well as he scored 25 runs off 22 balls. He was stumped by Rishav Pant off Amit Mishra in the ninth over. Mumbai were 79 for 1 when Kieron Pollard cam into the crease. Another Caribbean made it sure from the start that he meant business. Never letting the run rate settling down Pollard supported Simmons aptly. Lendil Simmons hit all around the ground scoring an excellent 66 off 43 balls. He was removed by Corey Anderson in the thirteenth over. It looked like Mumbai's innings came to a break but Pollard never let that happen. With Rohit Sharma in the crease he began knocking the ball hard. Mumbai were 50 up in 15 overs. As he tried to pace up the runs Rohit was dismissed by Kagiso Rabada in the sixteenth over. Mumbai were 153 runs. It looked like Delhi can now restrict the visitors around 190. However Pollard had some other plans. He knocked an excellent innings of 63 runs from 35 balls and Hardik Pandya yet again proving crucial at the death. Pandya put up 29 off just 14 deliveries as Delhi conceded 23 runs in the last over. Mumbai scored 213 runs off their allotted 120 balls. Brief Score: Mumbai Indians- 213/3 (20 overs) Lendl Simmons c Samuels b CJ Anderson (66) 43 Kieron Pollard not out (63) 35 Delhi Daredevils Zaheer Khan 29/0 Corey Anderson 29/1 UNI RSD PS 2230
