Melbourne, Jan 21 (UNI) Novak Djokovic battled through both physical pain and a fierce challenge from Carlos Alcaraz to secure a hard-fought victory at the Australian Open 2025, maintaining his hopes of claiming a record 25th Grand Slam title.
The 10-time Australian Open champion won 4-6 6-4 6-3 6-4 in a gruelling three-hour, 37-minute contest on a cool Tuesday evening, sending him into the semifinals against Alexander Zverev.
Djokovic, 37, faced an uphill struggle after dropping the first set and suffering an upper leg injury, forcing him to take a medical timeout trailing 5-4. He returned to the court with a taped leg and, despite initial concerns, his recovery proved successful.
