Dispose garbage effectively to avoid bird menace at Kangra airport: DC

Kangra, Jul 16 (UNI) Taking cognisance of bird menace around Kangra airport, the district administration on Tuesday directed the concerned officers, as well as Pradhans of Panchayats surrounding the airport and Municipal Councils, to take effective steps for the disposal of the garbage.
Presiding over a meeting of Airport Environmental Committee and Aircraft Space Committee here, Kangra Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Prajapati said that garbage around the airport area was inviting birds in the airspace of the airport, posing threat to the landing aircraft. He told the meeting that it was a threat to the aircraft and the passengers.
He also directed the authorities to get the mobile towers near the airport shifted to other safer places and those trees near the wall of the runway proving hazardous for the aircraft while landing, be trimmed.
