Dimapur IRT rescues 41 child labours

Kohima, Sep 13 (UNI) The Immediate Response Team under Dimapur District Task Force (DDTF) on Child Labour under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, conducted rescue of child labours from garages, workshops, hotels and shops from various locations in Dimapur yesterday.

According to a press release issued by CHILDLINE of Dimapur today, a total of 41 children with ages ranging from 10 to 14 years were rescued from various locations of Dimapur town. The rescued children were produced before the Child Welfare Committee Dimapur (CWC) along with their parents and guardians. The employers were summoned before the CWC whereby penalty was imposed as per the relevant act and were made to sign bonds declaring not to employ any children below 14 years in the future. The attendees were also sensitized on the Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection of Children) Act, Child and Adolescent Labour and Prohibition Act and Right to Education Act.
