Digilocker to help citizens to access their documents anytime, anywhere : Seema Jain

Chandigarh, Jun 24 (UNI) To minimise the usage of physical documents and enable sharing of e-documents across government organisations, the Punjab Governance Reforms department in collaboration with the National e-Governance Division under Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) on Monday organised a one-day state level workshop on DigiLocker for the heads of state government departments and universities here.
Chairing the workshop, Ms Seema Jain, Principal Secretary, Governance Reforms and Higher Education, said that Governance Reforms department started process of integrating DigiLocker with e-Sewa and m-Sewa applications which are being used to deliver key services to citizens through different modes including Sewa Kendras.
Caste Certificates (SC/ST/BC/OBC), Residence Certificate and Rural Area Certificate are available on respective Digilocker accounts of citizens which are issued via Sewa Kendras. Punjab State e-Governance Society and Punjab School Education Board have already registered as issuer departments on Digilocker, she added.
