Dialogue ‘only’ way to solve NE issues, says Meghalaya CM

Itanagar, Oct 19 (UNI) Meghalaya Chief Minister and National People’s Party (NPP) President Conrad Sangma on Tuesday said that dialogues are the ‘only’ way to resolve the long-standing differences, including the inter-state boundary matters among the North Eastern states.
“We often harden our stand without knowing the issue. We should be able to differentiate stand and issue,” Sangma said, while adding that inter-state boundary issues can be solved if each of the NE states started sitting for dialogues. He was speaking at the NPP’s conclave themed ‘Regional Aspiration, National Outlook’ held at Dorjee Khandu Convention Centre here.
“Our stand is not important but the issue is for a regional aspiration. We should come out of our position minded stand and take an issue-based stand. If we follow this, I believe atleast 50-60 percent issues can be resolved including the Assam-Arunachal boundary issue,” the NPP chief said.
