Dhumal hails TV surveys on assembly elections

Dhumal hails TV surveys on assembly elections

Hamirpur, HP, Dec 16 (UNI) Former Himachal Pradesh chief minister and senior BJP leader Prem Kumar Dhumal on Saturday hailed the surveys and predictions made by various TV channels giving clear cut victory to the party in the recently concluded Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha elections, the result of which would be announced on Monday.
Talking to reporters at his Samirpur village residence in this district, he said people voted en mass in favour of the BJP for ousting the Congress that had harmed their cause during past five years. During this period, the development was haywire, he told the reporters. He blamed the Congress for the mess that was created in state and that led to sufferings of the people.
He said main and the foremost job of the new BJP government in state would be to make all round development of the state that had been halted due to wrong policies of the present Congress party government. Since BJP was ruling the nation, adequate funds would flow to the state for the development and other related fields.
Prof Dhumal said the Congress was upset with the predictions of TV channels and that was making vague statements that has no relevance. He claimed that the party would win more than fifty seats as it had target since long.
The BJP leader said it was shocking to point out that despite huge funds were given by the Central government to the state during last three years, the development was haywire and those funds were misutilised by the Congress party leaders.
He said that DPR’s of roads and other projects were not made and that led to non development and surrendering of funds meant for the state projects to the central government.
Replying to a question, he said he would also ensure that adequate representation was given to all parts of the state in matter of constitution of the new ministry. He, however, refused to say when he would take over once the results were announced. He simply replied, let the results come and every thing would clear than and there.
