New Delhi, Jul 8 (UNI) The ITBP Director General SS Deshwal on Monday felicitated 11-member search team who had successfully searched and retrieved the bodies of the seven mountaineers near Nanda Devi from an altitude of 20000 ft, after a 500 hours operation.
A rare search and retrieval mission code name ‘Daredevils’ the Indo-Tibet Border Police (ITBP) mountaineers had conducted the operation in a most hostile condition.
The 11-member ITBP mountaineering search team was led by the Second in Command Ratan Singh Sonal. The other members were Deputy Commandant Anoop Negi,Inspector Hemant Goswami, Head Constable Pradeep Panwar, Kalam Singh, Constable Kapil Dev, Bharat Lal, Jaiprakash Singh, Sanjay Singh, Surendra Singh and administrative support staff- Constable Medics Dheerendra Pratap, Cook Devendra Singh, Manjeet Singh and HCBhagyashali Meena.
