Deve Gowda sits on dharna against 'vendetta politics' of Yeddyurappa

Deve Gowda sits on dharna against 'vendetta politics' of Yeddyurappa

Yadgir , Oct 23 (UNI) Former Prime minister and JD (S) Supremo H D Deve Gowda on Wednesday joined the dharna in front of Yadgir DC office here along with hundreds of JD (S) workers protesting against the 'vendetta politics' of Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa in the state.

Addressing the mediapersons, Mr Gowda said that Chief minister B S Yeddyurappa believed that he was the only leader in Lingayat community and did not allow to grow any Lingayat leaders in the state and indulging in Vendetta politics in Karnataka .

The protest is over alleged police excesses during the interrogation of JDS workers over waving black flags and stopping Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa’s vehicle about a week ago.

Mr Gowda alleged that the police used force, even putting a gun, in the mouth of JD(S) workers to extract their confessions against the protesters.

He said that the CM deliberately revoked the suspension order of Yadgir PSI Bapu Gouda and imposed order under CrPC 144 in Yadgir city.

Mr Gowda alleged that Yeddyurappa took these steps for revenge politics as Sharangouda Patil, son of Gurmitkal MLA Naganna Gouda Kandakur, ‘stung’ Yediyurappa with an audiotape in February.

"They wanted to project Sharangounda as 'perpetrator' behind the protests against the CM", Mr Deve Gowda asserted.

The JD (S) supremo HD Deve Gowda demanded the immediate suspension of Yadgir PSI Babu Gouda and unconditional apology for the act .
