Despite being COVID-19 warriors; Anganwadi workers, helpers without wages: Tarigami

Srinagar, Oct 18 (UNI) Senior CPI(M) leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami on Sunday said the Anganwadi workers and helpers in Jammu and Kashmir, who are working tirelessly and are on the forefront of fighting COVID-19 pandemic, are without wages from last over a year.

“Thousands of Anganwadi workers and helpers, who have been tirelessly working day in and out, have been treated with utter contempt by the government. The government had in 2018 announced to enhance the honorarium in favour of these workers/helpers,” Mr Tarigami, a former MLA, said.

However, removal of Mr Nath’s name constitutes a violation of rules as that is the exclusive jurisdiction of political parties and not the ECI.
