Dera violence : Haryana reinstates IPS officer Ashok Kumar

Chandigarh, Oct 7 (UNI) Haryana government on Saturday reinstated IPS officer Ashok Kumar in service with immediate effect subject to the final outcome of departmental proceedings pending against him. Mr Kumar was suspended by the state government following violence by Dera Sacha Sauda followers in Panchkula after the special CBI court convicted sect head Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in rape cases He has been posted as Commandant, 1st Battalion Haryana Armed Police, Ambala City relieving Abhishek Jorwal from the additional charge of the post, an official statement said.
