Department of Electronics IT, BT, S&T in Karnataka have launched 6 products developed by Start-ups to fight Covid Pandemic

Bengaluru, July 7 (UNI) Karnataka Department of Electronics, IT, BT and Science and Technology start-ups today launched six products developed at Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre (BBC), to fight COVID 19 pandemic.
Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for IT, BT Ashwath Narayana launched the products Shieldex 24- a UV-ROS box for COVID 19 sterilization developed by Mr Ravi Kumar from Biofi, Fluorescent probes and PCR mix for RT-PCR detection developed by Dr Govindarajan and Dr Meher Prakash from VNIR, a remote foetal monitoring device- Daksh developed by Dr Arun Agrawal from Janitri, Viral Transport Media- DeConto VTM developed by Mr Manjunatha and Mr Dinesh from Deno Bio labs at IBAB, Cov-Astra an AI based device for detection of COVID 19 developed by Mr Adarsh Nararajan from Andra and Antimicrobial face wash containing herbal antimicrobials, developed by Dr Latha Damle and team from Atrimed.
Congratulating the Start-ups Mr Narayan said that “these technologies and products developed by the start ups shows that the State has emerged as a leading State in developing solutions to fight the COVID 19 pandemic and is a result of the robust Innovation ecosystem present here”.
Mr Ramana Reddy, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Electronics, IT, BT and S&T and Chairman, BBC said “We are very proud to launch the Technologies and Products in a timely manner to fight the pandemic and some more Technologies and Products are in the pipeline”. Ms Meena Nagaraj, Director, Directorate of IT, BT and Managing Director, Karnataka Innovation and Technology Society (KITS) said “I congratulate the Innovators who have developed these Technologies and Products and I assure them of all possible support in facilitating marketing and distribution”.
The Innovators who developed these products expressed their gratitude to BBC, KITS and the Department in facilitating by providing all the necessary support such as Incubation and mentorship at BBC and funding through idea2PoC/elevate scheme from KITS.
Peaking on the occasion, BBC Managing Dr Jitendra Kumar said ” It is heartening to see that the start ups have come up with the products in short time and this demonstrates that the Incubation, facilitation, funding and ecosystem building efforts by BBC which is generously supported by KITS, Department of Electronics, IT, BT and S&T, Government of Karnataka is bearing fruits”.
He stated that BBC has launched a support platform for Innovators developing products for fighting against COVID 19 and that some more products for diagnosis and therapy are being developed at the centre.
