Dense fog covers Delhi, delays travel

New Delhi, Jan 18 UNI) National capital on Friday woke up to a dense foggy morning with minimum temperature settling at 4.8 degrees C , two points below season's average.

Around 10 trains were running late due to the dense fog especially in Delhi s border area.

Flights were also delayed due to dense fog blanket that covered Delhi in the early hours.

Delhi Traffic Police also advised motorists to be cautious and maintain moderate speed while driving with the lights on during fog.

As per Met office , there dense fog cover was around the capital , while relative humidity pegged at 100 per cent at 0830 hours.

Air quality in the city was severe, with an index value of 411 at 0900 hours.

The sky is likely to be hazy, not clear during the day while maximum temperature is to hover around 22 degrees C.

On Thursday , the maximum temperature settled at 22.2 degrees C.
