Odense, Oct 15 (UNI) India's ace shuttler and World Champion PV Sindhu defeated Gregoria Tunjung of Indonesia to enter women's singles pre-quarterfinals at the USD 775,000 Denmark Open, here at Odense Sports Park on Tuesday.
Fifth seeded Sindhu defeated her opponent 22-20, 21-18 in the opening round, keeping herself alive in the bid to win her first BWF World Tour title this season.
After bagging the World Championships crown in August this year, Sindhu had suffered a surprise first and second round exits at the China Open and Korea Open last month, respectively.
