Dengue larvae cells found at 9 spots in Jalandhar under 'Mission Fateh' drive

Jalandhar, Jul 16 (UNI) In its ongoing campaign to sensitise people about preventing stagnation of water, cleaning the water storage tanks, coolers and waste containers daily under 'Mission Fateh' program, the health department on Thursday conducted the drive against vector-borne diseases in various parts of the city.

The members of the anti-larvae cell carried out inspection in Shanti Enclave, New Deol Nagar, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Colony and nearby areas. Four cases were detected in Shanti Enclave, two in New Deol Nagar and three in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Colony.

During checking, the teams visited 140 houses and checked 49 air coolers and 158 waste containers. Epidemiologist Dr Satish Kumar told that the teams sensitized the people that these places could act as a breeding ground for the mosquitoes to spread diseases like dengue, malaria and others so these must be cleaned regularly.

04 Aug 2020 | 1:54 AM

Bhopal, Aug 3 (UNI) A rather unusual but extremely warm-hearted sequence of events was witnessed on Monday at the city-based Chirayu Hospital when one COVID-19-infected patient tied a rakhi to another – the lady in question was Madhya Pradesh Cooperatives Minister Arvind Singh Bhadoria’s spouse Archna and the gentleman was none other than Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
“I pray for her rapid recovery and joyful existence. Corona warrior Saroj – stationed at the ward where I am undergoing treatment – also tied the thread of sisterly affection on my wrist. My life is dedicated to the welfare of sisters and uplift of the state. Next year, we shall celebrate Raksha Bandhan with considerable pomp and gaiety,” Mr Chouhan conveyed via social media.

Ayodhya: MP CM rains fire on Cong

04 Aug 2020 | 1:17 AM

Bhopal, Aug 3 (UNI) The beleaguered Congress camp – which no-holds-barred political observers describe as ‘outnumbered, outmanoeuvred and outgunned’ – sustained a sarcasm-laced broadside on Monday when Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, without naming anyone, averred that the party’s leaders who denied the very existence of Lord Ram are now busying themselves in determining which moment will be auspicious for the much-awaited Ayodhya temple’s ‘bhoomi pujan’.
“Invoking Raghav’s name itself makes a moment propitious. The Congress is coursing towards decline on account of its inferior ideology and playing with the faith of Sanatan Dharm. For that party, Ram may be a political subject but for us He is a symbol of devotion and belief. In the Puranic period, when rishis performed yajna they were targeted by asuras and rakshasas. The Congress bigwigs are playing the latter role,” the senior Bharatiya Janata Party politician conveyed via social media.
