Dengue cases mounts to 803 in Himachal

Shimla, Aug 11 (UNI) Close to 803 dengue cases have been reported in Himachal Pradesh, with Parmanoo of Solan being the most infested.
State Surveillance Officer of Communicable disease Dr Sonum Negi said in a report issued on Saturday that till August 9, as many as 803 patients were found positive for Dengue as 35 turned up as 143 tested for the Dengue.
As many as 393 patients were traced in Parmanoo, followed by 385 in Bilaspur district. Dr Rajinder Prasad Medical College Tanda confirmed 11 cases and IGMC Shimla-- nine. The first case of the fever was also reported from Sirmaur district and Zonal hospital Mandi registered three patients.
Timely action by the district and health authority in the state, however, prevented any deaths from the deadly fever.
The state is also under the grip of Scrub Typhus as out of 3,904 patients examined, as many as 184 tested positive for the infection. During the last 24 hours, four cases of Scrub Typhus were confirmed as 51 tested for the mysterious fever.
Himachal Pradesh government is countering the dengue and S. Typuh on the campaign level to reduce the fatality due to these communicable disease.
