Prayagraj, Nov 14 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday said that democracy and the Constitution will survive only when Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is uprooted from power in Lucknow and Delhi.
While addressing a public meeting in Rudrapur on Thursday in favour of party Phulpur Assembly by-election candidate Mujtaba Siddiqui, Akhilesh said that as long as the BJP government remains in Lucknow and Delhi, democracy and the Constitution will remain in danger in the country. "For its protection, BJP will have to be uprooted from both the places," he said.
He said that is why from time to time the High Court and Supreme Court keep making decisions against them but there is no effect on the government. "We had said that democracy is in danger. The situation is still the same because this government is not working according to the Constitution. But there is no effect on the government. Even today students do not get rights in the university," he said.
The SP chief said that these people do not want democracy. "The Constitution is our shield, our life-giver, it gives us strength. The Constitution is our protective shield," he said.
He said that the government is scared and is unable to tell its achievements. "They have come to know that people are not with them, so they are scaring people through officers," he alleged.
Akhilesh said that the achievement of the BJP government is that it has put the farmers in trouble. "Inflation has increased and the sweetness of the festival has been snatched away," he said.
He said even though the Phulpur election is a by-election, it will send a message to 2027, those who have not worked in so many years. "From time to time, the High Court and the Supreme Court have reprimanded them. They used to go with bulldozers in the name of justice. The PDA people do not consider bulldozers to be right. We assure you that those who have been wronged will get justice. This government is going to go now," he said.
The SP Chief said that the BJP is sending its big leaders to campaign for the Phulpur by-election but it is not winning the election. "Those who talk big, who call us mafia, their officers rigged the last election, in which we lost some seats by a small margin. But this time the workers are alert. They will not let this happen," he said.
He said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is not able to understand the full form of PDA. "His NDA also starts with N which means negative. Research from an American university says that negative people grow old quickly. They remain sad, they suffer from amnesia. My advice is that if you want to stay healthy, then change your negative thinking," he said.
Akhilesh said that those who call SP goons, mafia, or scoundrels probably do not look in the mirror before leaving the house. "If they look in the mirror before going out, then they will never call PDA people mafia or goons. Ever since the socialists have given the slogan of PDA, they have started seeing DAP as PDA. They are playing with the letters. They have enmity, which is why they are not able to make DAP available to the farmers. He said that PDA is a movement of positive thinking. We want to move forward with Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas. Some people get a stomach ache after seeing PDA, PDA will cure that pain also," he said.
