Delhiites inhale "very poor" air; season's highest stubble fires recorded

New Delhi, Oct 27 (UNI) The Delhiites continued to suffer from toxic air on Tuesday as the Air Quality Index (AQI) remained "very poor" and furthermore season's highest 1,943 stubble fire counts were recorded.
According to Central Pollution Control Board's (CPCB) daily bulletin, Delhi recorded an AQI of 312 (very poor).For surrounding areas, AQI was 332 in Greater Noida, 306 in Gurugram, 318 in Faridabad, 320 in Noida; all four in the 'very poor' category.
An AQI between 0 and 50 is considered 'good', 51 and 100 'satisfactory', 101 and 200 'moderate', 201 and 300 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor', and 401 and 500 'severe'.All the readings for Delhi-NCR were under "red category" and such air quality can cause respiratory illness on prolonged exposure.
