Delhi polls: All BJP, JDU & LJP candidates file nominations

New Delhi, Jan 21 (UNI) All the candidates of Bharatiya Janata Party, along with its NDA allies Janata Dal United and Lok Janshakti Party, filed their nominations on Tuesday.

These include Abhay Kumar Verma from Laxmi Nagar, Rajeev Babbar from Tilak Nagar, Kapil Mishra from Model Town, Pradesh Secretary Vikram Bidhuri from Tughlakabad, Yuva Morcha President Sunil Yadav from New Delhi, Poorvanchal Morcha President Manish Singh from Delhi Cantt.

Union Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan, MP Vijay Goel, West Delhi MP Pravesh Sahib Singh Verma, cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir, National Media Co-In-charge Sanjay Mayukh, along with many senior BJP leaders were present with their party candidates.

Other prominent candidates who filed nomination papers were Pradesh spokesperson Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga from Harinagar Assembly, Dharmveer Singh from Kalkaji, Dr Anil Goel from Krishna Nagar, Kusum Khatri from Mehrauli, Kaushal Mishra from Seelampur and others.

In addition, Ravinder Kumar Indraj from Bawana Assembly, Ram Chandra Chawariya from Sultanpur Majra, Dr SC Vats from Shakurbasti, Tilak Ram Gupta from Trinagar, Shri Yogendra Chandolia from Karol Bagh, Khushi Ram from Ambedkar Nagar, Sumanlata Shaukeen from Nangloi Jat, Ramesh Khanna from Rajouri Garden and Sanjay Goel from Shahdara filed their nomination papers.

Meanwhile, its allies JDU and LJP candidates too filed their nominations.

Shailendra Kumar, candidate for Burari and HCL Gupta from Sangam Vihar of Janata Dal United filed their nominations. At the same time, LJP candidate from Seemapuri AC also filed his nomination on Tuesday.

BJP on Tuesday formally announced its alliance with Janata Dal (United) (JDU) and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) for the Delhi Assembly Polls.

Addressing the press conference here at the party’s unit office at Pandit Pant Marg, Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari said, ''We will fight together in this assembly polls. We have given two seats to JDU while one seat has been allotted to LJP.''

The national capital will go to polls on February 8 to elect the seventh Assembly. The outcome of the election will be declared on February 11.

New Delhi, Feb 18 (UNI) Delhi Police have filed the chargesheet in the December 15 Jamia-New Friends Colony violence case, naming Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student Sharjeel Imam as an "instigator'.
Police said the chargesheet was filed on February 13. CCTV clips, call detail records and statements of more than 100 witnesses were attached. No Jamia Millia Islamia student has been named in the chargesheet.
