New Delhi, Jan 18 (UNI) After being denied ticket from the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Dwarka MLA Adarsh Shastri, the grandson of former prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, along with his hundreds of supporters, joined the Congress Party, here at the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) office on Saturday.
The MLA joined the Congress here in the presence of AICC in-charge P C Chako, DPCC president Subhash Chopra, Chief Spokesperson Mukesh Sharma and other Congress leaders.
"I welcome back one of my family members and son Adarsh Shastri in our party. He had joined the Aam Aadmi Party to work against corruption and bring in the Jan Lokpal Bill. The Bill was passed in the Assembly, but the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP Government has not taken any step to enforce the Lok Pal," Mr Chopra said.
