New Delhi, Sept 24 (UNI) The Delhi High Court on Monday banned slaughtering of birds in the national capital's Ghazipur Murga Mandi.
A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed in Delhi High Court which claimed that the slaughtering of the poultry birds was done illegally at the Ghazipur Mandi, East Delhi.
It was submitted before the court that waste generated as a result of the slaughter of the birds was not properly disposed of and was either flushed down the drain ending up in the river or dumped in open grounds.
