New Delhi, Mar 27 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday said the government was enhancing the capacity of night shelters and arrangements in the national capital, so that no one goes hungry during the lockdown and revealed that the government will feed four lakh people from Saturday.
The government will be feeding around two lakh people from Friday through a network of 325 Delhi government schools and around four lakh people from Saturday, Mr Kejriwal said.
'Until yesterday, we were feeding 20000 people in 224 shelters,' he added.
'On behalf of all Delhiites, I want to thank all the social, religious and other organisations, who have come forward to provide relief in these difficult times. You are all serving the humanity and your nation in this period of crisis,' he said.
Addressing the mediapersons, the Chief Minister said that the five doctor expert panel headed by Dr Sareen, has sent in a report recommending measures to prepare for the potential Stage 3 outbreak of Covid-19 in Delhi.
'We are ramping up our capacity for an eventuality of 1,000 daily positive cases, for testing, treatment and isolation,' he added.
"We are doing away the shortcomings and making preparations to deal with a situation of up to 1000 COVID-19 cases per day. But, I hope the number of cases will come down in the coming days," the Chief Minister said.
