Delhi govt's time-bound plan to make Yamuna clean, ecologically rich river: Kapil Mishra

New Delhi, Jun 19 (UNI) Delhities will soon enjoy public space, including ecological parks and cycle tracks on the banks of the river Yamuna as the Delhi Government is implementing a Rs 5000 crore Yamuna Turnaround Plan (YAP) to make it a clean, navigable and ecologically-rich river, Delhi Water Minister Kapil Mishra said.
Talking to UNI, Mr Mishra said the first ever 'compressive' plan had already kicked off after being cleared by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Union Water Minister Uma Bharti, with the sole aim to restore the natural state of the river, one of the most polluted water bodies, and bring people back to the river front.
''It's a time-bound and stage-bound action plan. Yamuna will be a clean, navigable and ecologically rich river for the people in around two years," he said.
