New Delhi, Nov 6 (UNI) Delhi Environment Minister Imran Hussain on Tuesday appealed to residents of the national capital to celebrate a crackers-free Diwali in order to reduce air pollution.
'I appeal to everybody concerned to help in reducing the local sources, which contribute to air pollution. Celebration of cracker-free Deepawali is one such step, and I hope the residents of Delhi will continue their positive contribution,' Mr Hussain said in a statement on the eve of Diwali on the existing environmental conditions.
'I wish the residents of Delhi a very happy Deepawali and I sincerely hope this festival of lights brings joy and prosperity all around,' he said.
