Delay in execution of HPPCL project caused price jump from Rs 3.74 unit to Rs 6.34: CAG

Tapovan, Dharamshala, Dec 14 (UNI) The delay caused in the execution of 100 mega watt Sainj power project by the Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited set up in the Beas river of Kullu district jumped the per unit price of Rs 3.74 to Rs 6.34, the Comptroller & Auditor General Report laid in the state Assembly said on Saturday.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, who also holds the portfolio of Finance, laid the CAG report for 2017-18 on the last day of this Winter session of the state Assembly.
The CAG report mentioned that Sainj Power project execution was delayed for 29 months, which increased it's construction cost from Rs 674 crore to Rs 1319 crore.
