Defence forces continue relief operations in Kerala

Kochi, Aug 11 (UNI) Indian Air Force (IAF) continued its Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations in flood affected areas of Kerala and neighbouring Tamil Nadu, a defence statement said here on Sunday.
Southern Air Command has already deployed medium lift helicopters at Calicut in North Kerala for quick response to any request by State Administration,
According to the statement, IAF helicopters (Mi-17) of Southern Air Command dropped over 1000 kilograms of food packets in multiple sorties at Nilambur and other flood affected areas of Malappuram.
