Deepak Mehta and Sunil Parekh appointed Chairman and Co-Chairman respectively of Gujarat State Council of FICCI

Ahmedabad, Jan 31 (UNI) Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), Deepak Nitrite Ltd Deepak C Mehta, has been appointed as the new Chairman of FICCI Gujarat State Council.
He is at the helm of affair at Deepak Nitrite Ltd for the last 42 years. The Company is a leading manufacturer of inorganic and organic chemicals, as well as fine & specialty chemicals and intermediates.
He is also the Chairman of the National Chemicals Committee, FICCI. He is the past President of Indian Chemicals Council (ICC). He was also the Chairman of various Committees including the Trade & Business Development Committee of ICC.
Mehta adorned the position of member of ‘Task Force on Chemicals Industry’ constituted by the government of India with an objective to put forward a strategy for increasing competitiveness for the Indian chemical Industry.
He is also an active Trustee on BAIF Development Research Foundation, a Voluntary organization dedicated to Rural Development, VSPCA (Vadodara Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), a non-government organization working for the welfare of animals, besides Deepak Foundation a Group Trust dedicated to improving quality of life for persons in BPL Category as also improving life expectancy for Women & Children.
Sunil Parekh, Advisor, Zydus has been appointed as the Co - Chairman of FICCI Gujarat State Council for the year 2019.
Parekh is currently Senior Strategy Advisor to two Indian MNCs - Zydus Cadila Healthcare Group and Jubilant Bhartia Group. He is also on the Board of GNFC Ltd, GVFL Ltd. He has 42 years of working experience with corporates in India, Africa & the US. He is an empanelled Arbitrator and a Fellow of the Indian Council of Arbitration ICA.
He is a Start-up Evangelist, deeply involved with Gujarat’s Start-Up ecosystem, several Universities, Industry Bodies like FICCI National Executive. He is also associated with global organisations like WEF Geneva’s Ahmedabad Shapers Initiative & The Value Web. Parekh is the founder Chairman of PanIIT Alumni Association (Gujarat). He is also on board of some leading NGOs. He is also the Chairman of FICCI - Gujarat Start-up Sub Committee. He continues to speak at several forums on current developments. He loves interacting with youth.
