Deep depression to triggers rains in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, May 28 (UNI) Distant Cautionary Signal Number one (DC-I) was hoisted at Paradeep and Gopalpur ports in Odisha as a well marked low pressure. Area lay centered 700 kms south east of Paradeep is likely to intensify into a deep depression triggering rains and thundershowers in Odisha during the next 24 hours. Met sources here today said yesterday's Well Marked low pressure area over Eastcentral and adjoining Westcentral & Southeast Bay of Bengal concentrated into a Depression today. The system moved East-Northeastwards with a speed of 40 KMPH and lay centered over Eastcentral Bay of Bengal about 700 km nearly south-southeast of Paradeep. The system is very likely to move North-Northeastwards and cross Bangladesh coast between longitude 91.0 ºE and 92.0ºE around May 30 noon. It is very likely to intensify into a deep depression during next 12 hours and into a cyclonic storm during subsequent 24 hours. Under its impact rain/thundershower likely to occur at a few places over Odisha during next 24 hours. UNI DP RN 2102
