Declare wet drought, give compensation to farmers: Aurangabad Cong to Mah govt

Aurangabad (Maharashtra), Sep 22 (UNI) The Congress, a ruling partner in the present Maha Vikas Aghadi government, on Tuesday appealed the ruling dispensation to declare wet drought and give compensation as the unabated heavy rains have extensively damaged Kharif crops.
Addressing a press conference at the Subedari Guest House here, Aurangabad District Congress chief Dr Kalyan Kale stated that they have submitted a memorandum, seeking monetary aid for farmers, to Collector Sunil Chavan.
In the same regards, he continued, the Congress Committee will approach Revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat and put forth the said demand.
