Decision of Prez rule in Maha was under pressure from BJP: Digvijay

Decision of Prez rule in Maha was under pressure from BJP: Digvijay

Lucknow, Nov 12 (UNI) Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Digvijay Singh here alleged that decision of ‘President's Rule’ in Maharashtra was taken under pressure from Narendra Modi government.

Speaking with mediapersons here on Tuesday, Mr Singh said Maharashtra Governor had asked National Congress Party, the third largest party (NCP) to form government after the BJP and the Shiv Sena failed to prove their mandate. But Governor recommended for President's Rule before prescribed time given to NCP to prove the mandate which shows that decision was taken under pressure from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Mr Singh said BJP could ‘manage’ MLAs even under President's rule. He said the whole political scenario indicates that it was a pre-planned move to side Shiv Sena and impose President's rule.

Speaking about differences between the BJP and Shiv Sena, Congress leader said there was an ideological conflict between the two parties. But recent turn of events show that Shiv Sena is marching for changes.

Hailing Supreme Court for Ayodhya verdict, Mr Singh said Congress has maintained that decision of apex Court would be honoured by all. He said a long pending issue came to its logical end by the decision of the Supreme Court.
