Deaths of protesters in Bangladesh to be investigated under UN supervision

Dhaka, Aug 15 (UNI) The killings of protesters in Bangladesh will be investigated with the participation of a team of UN experts, the Dhaka Tribune news portal reported.
United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk held a phone call with the head of the interim government of Bangladesh, Muhammad Yunus, during which he said that a UN-led investigation into the killings of protesters will soon be launched, the report read on Wednesday.
Yunus, in turn, said that human rights would be a fundamental issue for his administration, and the protection of every citizen would be the government's top priority, the report added.
